About Rankscanner

How does RankScanner help my SEO?

If you, as mostly all other websites, rely on traffic and visitors for your blog or website to have any value, you will want to search engine optimise your site so that it ranks better on Google. However, since there are so many keywords and search terms that your site can possibly rank for, it can be hard to keep track of your performance. Sometimes you gain a few positions on one search term, while losing entire pages on another in a different niche. RankScanner makes this SEO tracking easy and effortless. Forget about checking Google all the time, and simply tell RankScanner which keywords you would like to monitor, then we give you detailed reports and check your keywords anywhere from once a week to min. once a month, depending on your needs. RankScanner even has a built in engine that automatically suggests new keywords for your website, based on its contents and competition on Google.

What is Rankscanner?

RankScanner is the best online rank tracker for your Google SERPs available. We track your domains’ keyword positions regularly and with 100 % accuracy, and keep you updated on your SEO performance and results.

Account

Having questions regarding your account, such as billing, payments etc.? Look no further, we may already have answered your questions below.

General

Can I add 1000 keywords to my website the same day? Will it spam Google somehow?

You can add as many keywords as your domain’s plan supports. It will not affect Google, nor your domain in any way, as RankScanner uses a variety of locations, IP addresses, server resources etc. to check the SERPs – all depending on the individual request and taken care of automatically by our engines and algorithms.

How many domains will I be able to monitor in my account?

You can add as many domains as you want. Each domain starts with 10 keywords for free, and can be upgraded to Silver and Gold plans – which include more features and up to 500 keywords – if desired.

Where is RankScanner located, and won’t it affect my rankings?

We have servers in all parts of the world to be able to provide accurate date depending on geographic locations and languages.

In other words, when you add a keyword to be monitored by RankScanner, you can select which language to search in and which Google domain to use. RankScanner then checks that particular keyword in the most neutral possible search query, while making sure to apply the criteria you have set – such as if you want to track the keyword in English or German, and if it should use Google.com, Google.co.uk or even Google.de. Geographical factors will also only apply it there is meaning to it, such as for instance preferring to use a server in India to track rankings where the Google domain is set to google.in and the language is set to Hindi.

Which is better of lower or higher ranking positions?

It is better to have lower rankings than higher ones, as the ranking number indicates which position your website currently holds at that particular keyword/search phrase. In other words, if your website’s rank is 2 on “cheap website design” it means that it is currently the second best in the top 3 on Google’s organic search results.

Billing

Do I need to be a company to upgrade?

Not at all. We welcome anyone, especially people who are starting up a new website and may just be in the process of making a company. Simply leave the “Company” field blank in the billing profile, and you will be able to upgrade your domain.

My billing information is wrong. Where do I change it?

Simply go to Account -> Billing and change the values in there.

Google

Online marketing on search engines can contain a lot of complex terms and mentions of tools that you might not have heard of before. This section contains some explanations for what each of the terms mean, and how they work in the context of search engine optimisation and ranking well on Google.

Terms

How does Google ranking help my website?

As long as you rely on traffic to your website – which the vast majority of businesses do – you have a lot to gain from getting great rankings on Google, as most of the world’s internet users daily use a search engine as their first step when researching a particular subject. For instance, if you are running a software business that sells spamfilters for forums, you will want to be on the 1st page of Google, or even the top 3, when people search for “Premium spamfilter for forum”, so that you receive the organic search traffic, which in most cases is significant if you are in the top 3 of some highly competitive search phrases.

What is SERPs?

This stands for Search Engine Result Pages, and is the primary measurement factor for search engine optimisation results and performance. For instance, if you want to check how well you are doing on Google on a specific keyword, you would go to Google and search for “Best Online Marketing Blog” and find a number of results on that Google page. If your websites is ranked on the first page you would be in the top 10.
